The registrations for the Third Series of Ranking Tournaments, Open & Under 18 categories, are open and will be accepted by the general secretary of the association by not later than Wednesday 5th November 2008.   Draws will be made on Friday 7th November at Pandora Bar Zejtun at 7.30 pm. This will be the third and final series of ranking tournaments. At the end of this series the top five players from each category will automatically win a place in the national teams that will be representing Malta in the World Eight Ball Pool Championships being held in Blackpool, England, in July 2009.

In December 2008 and March 2009 the association will be organising two open qualifier tournaments.  Finalists of both qualifier tournaments will join the national team that will have a total of nine players.   In March 2009 an Under 18 qualifier tournament will give the finalists the last two places in the national juniors team that will include a total of seven players.
