The third Open Ranking Tournament of the season came to an end at Pandora Theatre in Zejtun Band Club when Miguel Falzon of Top Gun Bar met Domus Kids player Kevin Mercieca in the final.

Falzon produced a great performance and outclassed Mercieca with an 8-4 final score. Thanks to this victory Falzon clinched top spot of the national ranking list and was declared national champion for the 2008-9 season.  By reaching the final Mercieca gained enough points to move into the fourth place of the national ranking list and earn a place in the national team that will represent Malta in the coming European and World Championships.
